Met the owner and talked to him quite awhile, super nice, loved our dogs, needless to say we put this place in our top 5 favorite coffee houses and we are coffee snobs from Seattle. We sat outside 1 because it was super sunny and a beautiful day and 2 because we had 2 dogs but they have a lot of seating outside and while we were their they opened the garage door style 'wall' and opened the shop up and spread the inside seating out so everyone could enjoy the beautiful day. ![]() I wanted to stay their all day but we had come for the beach so that didn't fly with my hubby. As soon as I was done with my coffee I wanted another! If this was in our home town it would be our regular hang out, super friendly with great coffee and amazing style. Just don’t book here. This had the best ratings online so we decided to check it out because you don't mess around with our coffee or people get hurt! We are always skeptical when it comes to coffee cause it is either amazing or terrible more than not it is terrible. I will add that while 99% of the room was awful, the beds seemed well made and the sheets looked clean at first glance. And while the reception employee was pleasant enough when we checked in, they seemed to argue that Expedia was causing the communication issue and they weren’t seemingly concerned about the issues with the room. We booked through Expedia, and thankfully they helped us relocate to another property in Aberdeen. And the worst of all, the door to the outside (the room was street level) was loose, lock and all, and had a large crack straight through to the outside. The lamp beside the beds had a large stain. The ceiling in the bathroom was badly patched and had a water stain. The bathroom had a small window in the shower that was missing trim and was covered in dark grime. The connecting door to the next room was crusty and the locks suspicious, the entire room had smudges of mysterious substances or sloppy paint or BOTH. As soon as we opened the door we knew we couldn’t stay here. I don’t want to know what the other rooms must be like if they thought the one they gave us was habitable. The reviews seem mixed for this hotel, but if you book it, you run the risk of being put in a room like the one we got. There is no shortage of things to do in the area: explore popular parks such as Kurt Cobain Memorial Park.
